New Zealand's First Retail AutoStore System Launches at IKEA Sylvia Park
Swisslog has installed New Zealand's first retail AutoStore system at IKEA Sylvia Park in Auckland — a landmark project that delivers a tenfold improvement in order picking speed. The system, featuring 12 robots operating simultaneously, can pick up to 200 items per hour compared to the previous manual rate of around 20 items per hour.
The installation is designed to scale to more than 500 orders per day and demonstrates how AutoStore cube storage technology can be deployed directly within a retail store environment. For New Zealand manufacturers and logistics operators, this project signals the arrival of high-density automation at scale in the local market.
